Welcome to Sugar Love Bakery, where our mission is simple: to spread love one sweet treat at a time! Founded by the talented Sierra Zeringue, our bakery has blossomed from humble beginnings in her mother’s kitchen to a beloved local gem. Inspired by our favorite verse, “Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14), we pour our hearts into every cake and pastry we create.
Sierra’s baking journey began 16 years ago, creating custom birthday and wedding cakes while balancing life as a stay-at-home mom. When her daughter started pre-K, Sierra faced a choice: get a job or make something of her baking business. God worked things out, and she took the leap to open her own bakery!
While baking at home, Sierra invented the King Cake on a Stick during a stroll at a street festival. Watching everyone enjoy chicken on a stick, she thought, “Wouldn’t it be neat if everyone had King Cake on a Stick?” She held onto that idea for five years, hoping to bring it to life before any other bakery could. Once Sugar Love Bakery opened, she introduced this new Mardi Gras tradition, and now you can grab them at parades on the Northshore and local businesses during Mardi Gras season!
We celebrated 10 years as an official storefront, but our roots run deep in the community. With a dedicated team of bakers, decorators, and employees, we have fun every day playing with sugar! From mouthwatering apple pies to festive king cakes, if you can dream it, we can bake it.
We’re proud to have won numerous awards, including Best Traditional King Cake at the King Cake Festival 2018, Best on the Bayou at the Louisiana King Cake Festival 2023, and Best Bakery in East St. Tammany Parish. Featured in Louisiana Cookin’ and the Big Book of King Cake, we’ve also been recognized as Best Snowball and Best King Cake in East St. Tammany Parish, and have been highlighted on the news for our cakes, cookies, and king cakes.
